Dr. Bobby Jason Parker PhD Obituary

Major Bobby J. Parker (Retired), PhD., age 77, of Leesburg, FL, transitioned peacefully with his family by his side, Friday, February 7, 2025, at Tavares Cornerstone Hospice Care, in Tavares, FL.
Dr. Parker was born in North Carolina on September 20, 1947, to the late George and Vera Parker. He was a devoted and proud veteran retiring from the United States Army.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Deborah Y. Parker, a son, Steven Parker and wife Kimberly of Goldsboro, NC; a daughter, Zaborah Roane of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren: Steven Parker Jr. (Courtney), Rashad Parker (Albony), Tiarra Parker-Scarboro (Shyheim), Sierrah Robinson, and JaQuan Wiggins (Special) all of North Carolina; eleven great-grandchildren: Ahzy McCoy, Sire Wiggins, Jaiden Parker, Jeremiah Parker, Julia Parker, Jordan Parker, Josiah Parker, Ashton Walters, River Parker, Rashad Parker Jr., and Evayah Scarboro all
of NC; one brother, Milton Parker of Los Angeles, CA; four sisters: Joyce Parker Hunter (Theodore) of Canton, OH, Brenda Parker Battle (Doug), Peggy Parker Harrison, and Donna K. Parker Bynum (Jon) all of Rocky Mount, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special friends. In addition to his parents, Dr. Parker was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Dennis Parker.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul AME Church, 110 S. Lake St. in Leesburg, FL 34748. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.
Dr. Parker’s final resting place will be at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
