Obituary

Joyce Patricia DeSiato, 78, of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023 at Bay View Center nursing home in Eustis, Florida after succumbing to cancer. Joyce was born in Raritan, New Jersey at home on August 2, 1944. Joyce was a complex and joyful person who brought encouragement to those around her. She had a deep love for Jesus and enjoyed discussing new revelations about Him that she discovered in the Bible.

Joyce is survived by her seven siblings: Virginia Lee of CA, Armanda DeSiato of NC, Richard DeSiato of CA, Eugene DeSiato of FL, Regina DeSiato of NC, Neil DeSiato of TN and Cynthia Baker of NC. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Armando DeSiato and Rose DeSiato. Joyce loved her family deeply and prayed for them all her life.

Joyce graduated in one of the first classes of McArthur High School in Hollywood, FL. She was in the Home Coming Court and was a Cheerleader Captain her senior year. Joyce lovingly sewed and crafted crocheted items for her family and friends. She also dabbled in graphic art. She had an eye for beauty and could decorate her apartments inexpensively yet stunningly. It was important to her to look nice and attractive. Never daunted by a road trip, she enjoyed exploring the areas she lived in, and she never met a stranger.

To celebrate Joyce's life, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 7 pm at RiverLife Fellowship in Mooresville, NC. If you are unable to attend in person, the service will be available via Zoom. For Zoom access, kindly reach out to Cindy Baker at 828-999-2115.

Joyce DeSiato will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her deep faith in Jesus Christ, passion for prayer, and her love for creating beautiful handmade items. She was a cherished sister, aunt, and friend who had a natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
