Lavenia Catherine (Little) Knight Obituary

Lavenia Catherine (Little) Knight was born on January 22, 1939 to George and Micque Little in Okahumpka Fla., she was the eldest of six siblings.Lavenia attended Leesburg High School where she graduated top of her class and was a majorette.  As a young women she married Isadore Johnson and gave birth to Greg and Kenneth Johnson. She then met  and married John Frank Stubbs, Sr. and had 4 children: Madeline, Deborah, Frankie and Valescia.The family moved to Albion, NY where she was an active member on the school board and in Christ Episcopal Church.  She worked at Fisher Price and Black & Decker in Medina, NY., Hill Haven Nursing Home in Rochester, NY. After divorcing John she reunited and married her high school sweetheart Joe Knight and they moved back to Okaumpka Fla. For those who knew Lavenia well, knew she spoke her mind and you always knew where you stood with her. She enjoyed gardening and every year  when she lived in Albion she would adorn the outside of the house with rose bushes, peonies and marigolds. Lavenia is survived by her husband Joe Knight and her children:  Greg (Gayle) Johnson, Kenneth Johnson (predeceased), Madeline (John) Williams, Deborah (Michael) Bernard, John Frank Stubbs, Jr. and Valescia Walker. Her sisters: Rosetta McKenzie, Barbara Ann Wilson, and Phyllis Little. She is predeceased by her brothers: George Little, Calvin Little and Marvin Little. She was a grandmother to: Greg Fluellen Johnson, Jr., Cedric Johnson, Katrina Johnson, John Johnson, Terra DiMeglio, Kenneth Johnson, Jr., Tyrin Glover, and Amala Bernard.  As well as a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. After Lavenia suffered 3 strokes she ended up at Cypress Care Center.  Her quality of life began to deteriorate in 2020.  On November 4, at the age of 83, Lavenia transitioned peacefully and was called home to be with our Lord.  May her soul rest in peace.
